Review RF XXVII: Synchronize It, Love It
TOUCH it, bring it, Pay it, watch it, Turn it, leave it, start – format it, Technologic.
A piece of Daft Punk lyrics above, may represent our relationship with technologic and its magic enchantment, that could manipulate our brains. Hmmm… Anyway, one ‘tiny’ part of technologic with a big effect, is a mobile applications (mobile apps) for smartphones (iPhone, Android, BlackBerry).
Dive in technologic, is a daily routine for Sofyan Rosidi, or his famous nickname, ‘Sofyan dihital’.
His latest (awesome) work is a mobile apps for music.
Two reason why he made this apps, because he sees none of bands or artist in Indonesia have their own mobile apps, and he felt sorry (pity) if there is many great bands/ artist, but people didn’t recognize them. So, this music mobile apps is the answer.
You might think, what makes this apps so special? Well, I do not really understand about technologic or gadgets, but in my simple sentences, this apps contains music, videos, lyrics, photos, gigs schedule, Blog, Twitter, Facebook, and links into news or articles about the band/ artist. Another excess of this kind of application, it’s effectiveness. Because you could access it anytime, anywhere, and only worth 2 Mb of your multimedia memory card.

The first artist for this first music mobile apps are folk-rock/ blues band from Yogyakarta, Dharma (@dharmaformusic). This also made them as the first independent band whom have their personal mobile apps. According to present this kind of technologic, an event called RoTIFreSh (Return of Tuker Ilmu Freedom of Sharing) were held at Arjuna Radio Café Semarang, last Thursday (29/3).
Sponsored by TELKOMSEL and Langitmusik.com, “Music Goes Mobile”, a name of this event, presents Dharma as a guess star. They were sharing about benefit after been ‘raises’ by this apps, and definitely, social media. Many people (more than 300) has downloaded their apps, since been launched at February. They also grab many followers on Twitter.
In real life, they got offered to perform in many places and some gigs. So this made them pretty busy from Monday to Saturday. See? This is a ‘tiny’ effect from the power of social media. Hahaha.
If you have no idea who the hell they are, Dharma are Tommy Dharma Wiratama (vocal), Kenny Prehara (guitar), Pahala Kazhari (guitar), Reno Ferthano (drum & percussion) and Galih Aryo Wicaksono (keyboard/ piano). You could hear their songs here. Soon (they said this year) they will release their album, or EP. Well, we just wait, then. Talk about their performance at that night (Arjuna Radio café), they was just so amazing.
But one thing I feel pity about, none of music doers in Semarang came to this event. Isn’t it ironic? You concludes.
